若林真耶 個展 ”Out of Control”

若林真耶はガラス作家の父を持ち、幼少よりヴィヴィットな色彩と透明感、繊細さと力強さといった両極の面を併せ持つガラスに、他のメディアにはない魅力 と表現の多様性を感じていました。また、金属の質感に惹かれ、金槌で金属を直接造形する鍛金技法を東京藝術大学工芸科及び同大学院にて学びました。在学時 から一貫して、精神や心といった「目に見えない存在」に強い興味を持ち、人が自然に抱くイメージとの類似性から着想を得た作品を制作しています。 今展覧会では、鍛金技法による全身像に加え、子供とペットの自我をテーマにした「Out of Control」、移ろいやすい花と心が輝く刹那を表現した「花心」の新たな２シリーズの新作を中心に発表いたします。
With a father who was a glass artist, Maya Wakabayashi was exposed from an early age to the vivid colors and transparency, the delicacy and strength, the very dichotomies of the medium of glass; a beauty which she felt was not present in other expressive media. She was also attracted by the hammer wielding forging techniques of metalwork and honed her craftsmanship at the Tokyo University of the Arts through graduate school. During her studies, she became singularly obsessed with the “presence which cannot be seen” such as “spirit” or “mind”, creating works that represent the image of how people have come to embrace nature.
With this current exhibition, the artist presents two new series of works will be displayed: “Out of Control” expresses the self of pets and children, while “Heart of the Flower” portrays the shining moment of flowers and minds.
